Damien Bolton

Damien Bolton is Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Melbourne, Department of Surgery and Head of Department for Urology at the Austin Hospital and the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre.

 

After training in Melbourne and at the University of California, San Francisco he completed a postgraduate Doctor of Medicine degree and a subsequent PhD in prostate cancer research. He has authored over 300 peer-review publications and book chapters.

 

He has also acted as Chair of the Cancer Council Victoria committee on Urogenital Cancer, as the Co-Chair of the Victorian Government Prostate Cancer Management Summit, and in 2017 as the Co-Chair of the Asia-Pacific prostate Cancer Coalition.

 

In 2014 Professor Bolton was given the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons award for excellence in surgical research, and in 2016 was elected by a vote of world-wide urologist members to the Board of Directors of the Societe International d'Urologie.  He has performed over 1000 robot assisted operations.
